The morgue of the Faculty of Medicine at an American university trades in human organs, which were supposed to be used in the fields of teaching, learning and serving the medical profession.

According to the "Bean Live" website, the wife of the former director of the Harvard Medical School morgue pleaded guilty to a federal charge, after investigators said that she shipped stolen human parts, including hands, feet and heads, to buyers in the United States.

According to prosecutors, the director and his wife, in addition to 5 other people, were involved in this business that covered all parts of the country, buying and selling human remains stolen from Harvard University and a morgue in Arkansas.

Prosecutors alleged that the wife negotiated online sales of a number of organs that included 24 hands, 2 feet, 9 spines, parts of skulls, 5 dissected human faces, and 2 dissected heads.

It is worth noting that the body parts prepared for autopsy that were donated to the college were taken during the period between 2018 and early 2023 without the knowledge or permission of the college.

It is reported that bodies donated to Harvard Medical School are used for educational, teaching or research purposes, and once they are no longer needed, the bodies are usually cremated and the ashes are returned to the donor’s family or buried in the cemetery.
