There are over seven tons of debris scattered across Mars, equivalent to about seven giraffes or three rhinos. This includes parachutes, heat shields deployed during landing, drill bits, tire pieces, and, of course, a piece of the helicopter's rotor, 'Ingenuity.'
NASA stated that three rovers are currently working diligently on the surface of Mars to help find definitive evidence of extraterrestrial life at some point. These rovers are NASA's 'Curiosity' and 'Perseverance,' along with the Chinese rover 'Zhurong.'
During operation, the rovers are not classified as space debris. However, those that have crashed or 'died' (completed their missions) are all classified as waste.
This includes the Mars 6 landing module, which malfunctioned during landing, and the British Beagle 2, which failed to establish contact with Earth after its scheduled landing on Christmas Day in 2003."
