This economic reality accurately reflects the struggles of the individual Syrian, trapped between a tight budget and the increasing challenges of living costs. They are compelled to constantly search for opportunities for savings and economic solutions amid intense competition that forces them to sacrifice significant aspects of their personal lives to survive and protect their pockets' safety.

Standing in solidarity with the citizens and understanding their experiences in the midst of life's challenges, the Association of Restaurants, Cafés, and Parks in Damascus has announced the initiation of a new study to raise the prices of sandwiches and pastries.

The study, spanning 20 days, is justified by the rise in fuel and basic commodity prices. The results show a 100% increase in fuel and gas prices, a 25% increase in flour prices, and a 30% increase in charcoal and gas prices. Meanwhile, sugar and some ingredients saw price hikes ranging between 45% and 50%.

The association is conducting inspection rounds in shops to determine the final prices for popular meals and sandwiches. These prices will be submitted to the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection and then to the governorate for approval. The final decision is expected to be issued within a month, imposing a new burden on Syrians.
