Stop crying over the memory of soaring prices, for I do not see a near end to it."
Due to the recent increase in diesel prices, it is certain that the prices of transportation, food, and other essentials in the citizens' lives will rise, reaching even the fodder.
The increase in the price of fodder will lead to a rise in the prices of livestock, consequently raising the price of meat, which already suffers from low demand in the local market due to citizens adopting a more "vegetarian" lifestyle.
According to local sources, as stated by the director of fodder in Hama, Engineer Tamam Al-Nazami, the Grain Foundation has raised the price of a kilogram of bran from 1350 to 1400 Syrian pounds for the fodder directorate. This increase aims to compensate for transportation costs, and it is natural for a fodder institution to raise the price of the feed material, specifically bran.
The engineer also mentioned that the price may exceed 1400 Syrian pounds because truck owners refuse to transport the material without compensating for the price difference in diesel before and after the increase.
Regarding the fodder stock at the Hama Fodder Branch before the start of the upcoming fodder season, the director revealed that there are only 10,000 tons of bran, 587 tons of soybean, 1625 tons of barley, 600 tons of capsules, and 558 tons of oats. This quantity is significantly less than what was available in the previous fodder season.
