In light of escalating geopolitical crises, the global civil aviation sector is teetering on the brink of uncertainty. Yousry Abdel Wahab, a prominent aviation expert and former head of the Egyptian Air Transport Association, reveals the impact of the Iranian strike on Israel on this vital sector.
“The atmosphere is tense in the Middle East, and civil aviation is swaying in the stormy winds,” says Abdul Wahab, noting that the initial impact of the Iranian strike was clear in Israel, Lebanon, Iraq and Jordan, where flights were postponed for a period.
However, Abdel Wahab points out that things are moving towards calm, which reflects positively on the stability of the civil aviation sector.
On the other hand, he pointed out the impact of these events on aircraft insurance rates, and explained that the matter is not only related to opening or closing airports, but rather these events raise concerns for aviation insurance companies around the world.
