Parents of students at a school in France have made the unusual decision to officially register four sheep as new students for the next academic year in September 2024.
According to media reports, parents filled out registration files for sheep to a degree consistent with the procedures required to register students, and sent them to the municipality before sending them to the Ministry of National Education".
The sheep's names will appear in school records as follows: "John Deere, Margaret Dobris, Phil Tondos, Valerian Deschamps".
This brings the number of students in the class threatened with closure to 98, meeting the minimum required for classroom continuity in French law.
It is worth noting that parents brought sheep to the school yard to support their demands not to close classrooms.
