Calls to Award Nobel Peace Prize to Gaza's Healthcare Workers
Amidst the escalation of aggression, French MP from the France Party, Thomas Portes, called for awarding the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize to the healthcare workers in Gaza, adding that Israeli war criminals are killing the Palestinian people.
He highlighted the humanitarian situation and destruction witnessed in the Gaza Strip, and the difficult conditions faced by healthcare workers there, while performing their duties. Gaza's doctors are exhausted and dealing with complex cases, and medical teams are handling large numbers of patients and difficult and complicated injuries, coinciding with the Israeli army escalating its war on hospitals and the health sector.
On more than one occasion, hospitals in northern Gaza have gone out of service either due to Israeli airstrikes or raids and evacuations, or due to fuel and medical supplies running out, with the number of martyrs among healthcare workers reaching nearly 241.
