Archaeologists were able to reconstruct the face of a Neanderthal woman as a relative of the current human form, who lived about 75,000 years ago in a cave in northern Iraq.

In 2018, in Shandar Cave, the skeletal remains of a woman named "Shandar Zand" were discovered for the first time. According to the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, studies showed that Neanderthals buried their dead in the cave located in the Zagros mountain range in Erbil Governorate, and performed funeral rituals, such as Place them on a bed of flowers.

Evidence also indicates that Neanderthals are considered more advanced than primitive creatures, with a plump frame and an eyebrow like that of apes.

According to the chief archaeologist at the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Magdy Shaker, archaeologists were able to reconstruct the face of a woman who lived about 75,000 years ago in a cave in northern Iraq, dating back to the "Neanderthal" lineage of Neanderthals.

Shaker confirmed that this woman is one of the races before the existence of rational humans, because there was human evolution of the human body, and scientifically, human evolution has occurred over the ages and was found with different features in the past, and the reason for extinction occurred in different forms, just as dinosaurs and amphibious whales disappeared.

Shaker added: "Neanderthals" are present in Libya and Central Asia and are completely different from our current features, noting that they were shorter and stronger despite the difference in the current recognized features.

Regarding that woman who was discovered, he said: "Scientists were able to discover the physical formation of this woman and her age, who was buried at the age of forty, after analyzing the facial bones and teeth", explaining that the presence of a group of flowers next to the buried woman; It emphasizes the practice of Neanderthal burial rituals".
