Detecting Cancer in Minutes

post-img

Cancer detection is highly complex, expensive, and time-consuming, but what if you could detect it in just a few minutes?

Highlighting this, a test developed in Shanghai has emerged, promising to make cancer detection an easily accessible process. The test revolves around biomarkers indicating the presence of cancer.

According to research published in medical specialized websites, this method targets receptors or what is scientifically known as metabolites, secondary products of cell metabolism.

The new test starts by taking a drop of the patient's blood and allowing it to dry on a cotton pad, then using laser-enhanced particle agglutination.

Researchers found that the new testing method achieved an accuracy rate of up to 81.2% in individuals with pancreatic cancer.

Researchers pointed out that an abundance of a specific metabolite, or in some cases the presence of multiple metabolites simultaneously, indicates the likelihood of cancer.

Because the test requires minimal sophisticated equipment, it can be used in areas lacking specialized healthcare facilities, eliminating the need to wait for months to obtain results.
