Imagine that you are longing for a cup of morning coffee to start your day energetically, asking for it as usual to improve your mood a little, and you find yourself sipping coffee rich in insects, coffee rich in proteins!
This is what happened to a 21-year-old young woman, when she went into anaphylactic shock after discovering that she drank a cup of coffee full of insects at Son Sant Joan Airport near the capital, Palma, Mallorca.
Regarding the details, the young woman who works for the airline bought the drink from a vending machine, but when she started drinking, she noticed that the coffee tasted strange, and after further examination, she saw a swarm of insects floating in the cup.
She then went into anaphylactic shock, causing her face to swell and her throat to become clogged, and she began struggling to breathe.
She also had "various swellings" on her skin, and the woman was immediately taken to hospital and spent 36 hours in the intensive care unit before being released.
The young woman's family filed a complaint against the airport, considering that the presence of insects in the coffee is a potential crime, and claiming that the vending machine was not well maintained by airport employees.
